| Brief Introductory Biodata: Professor Santanu Kumar Acharya, Eminent Academician and Sahitya Academy Award Winning Litterateur of India, served Government of Odisha in the Deptt of Higher Education as a college teacher since Jan,1958, and was elevated to the rank of Principal Grade ( 1), in the cadre of Senior Education Administrator and retired as Registrar of Utkal University, Bhubaneswar ,Odisha, in June, 1992. His contribution to creative literature has been recognized by various prestigious Awards at the State and the National levels. He was awarded Odisha Sahitya Academy Award (1962) for his avant-garde novel "Nara-Kinnara", prestigious Sarala Puraskar for his futuristic socio-political novel Shakuntala ( 1987), Sahitya Akademy Award ( 1993) for the collection of a few advanced short stories under the title "Chalanti Thakura", Government of India's, Ministry Of Education's Children's Literature Award twice in 1961 and 1963 for his books based on Science Fiction and was honored by more than fifty prestigious public and private institutions of the country and abroad ,in recognition of his immense contribution to Odia literature. Finally he was honored with the most distinguished felicitation conferred on him by the Odisha Sahitya Academy : "Atibadi Jagannath Dash Puraskar" named after celebrated Saint Poet Jagannatha Dash of 16th Century AD. |
